Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Studies (PhD)
Contending with Truth. Writing for the Church. Thinking in Light of Eternity.
Program Overview
The Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Studies (PhD) is a rigorous, research-driven program designed to equip faithful scholars for theological inquiry, biblical instruction, and academic discipleship in service to the global Church. Unlike secular doctoral models that often elevate human reasoning above divine revelation, this program is wholly submitted to the authority of Scripture. Students are trained to think, write, and teach from a posture of reverence, not pride — producing scholarly work that upholds sound doctrine, equips the saints, and testifies to the truth in an age of deception. The goal is not intellectual prestige, but spiritual edification and faithful witness.
Program Duration
This program is designed to be completed in three (3) years of focused research and guided academic mentorship. Students may work at a flexible pace under the supervision of approved doctoral faculty.
Who This Program Is For
This program is intended for mature Christian scholars, seminary professors, doctrinal teachers, and ministry writers called to engage in high-level theological reflection and scriptural research. If you carry a burden to teach others, confront error, publish biblically grounded works, and guide the Church with theological clarity in perilous times, this program is for you. It is especially suited for those with prior graduate training in theology or ministry who seek to offer a lasting contribution to the Body of Christ through writing, teaching, and scholarship.
Credential Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program will be awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Studies (PhD).
This program is offered exclusively for religious and ministerial purposes under California’s religious exemption provision (CEC § 94874(e)(1)).
Spiritual and Practical Outcomes
Graduates of the PhD in Christian Studies will be equipped to conduct original, Spirit-led research in biblical theology, church history, doctrine, and Christian ethics — always honoring the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word. They will produce scholarly publications that strengthen the Church’s understanding of truth and address critical issues of doctrine and practice. Students will be able to teach in seminaries or theological institutions, raising up the next generation of sound teachers and faithful shepherds. They will also serve as theological advisors to pastors, mission organizations, and faith-based institutions. Above all, their voice will be one of clarity and conviction — not shaped by trends, but anchored in the unchanging Word of God.
Registration Invitation
If you are called to write, to teach, and to reason from the Scriptures — not for the applause of men, but for the strengthening of Christ’s Body — we invite you to consider this sacred path. The Church needs scholars who tremble at God’s Word, who will not compromise the truth, and who will leave behind a legacy of faithful doctrine for generations to come. Let your mind be renewed, your voice be sharpened, and your calling be fulfilled — all for the glory of Christ.
