Admissions Criteria
Open Christian University welcomes Spirit-led men and women who are called by God to pursue theological training for ministry, discipleship, and service to the Body of Christ. Our admissions process is not driven by worldly prestige, academic competition, or financial gain. We seek only those whom the Lord is calling — those who are ready to be shaped by His Word and prepared for faithful obedience in these last days.
To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. A Clear Testimony of Faith
All applicants must profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and demonstrate a life surrendered to His Lordship. A written testimony of conversion and spiritual growth is required as part of the application.
2. Commitment to Biblical Authority
Applicants must affirm the full inspiration, inerrancy, and sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures as the final authority for faith, life, and ministry. Enrollment at Open Christian University requires submission to the truth of God’s Word, without compromise or mixture of secular or interfaith ideologies.
3. Educational Preparedness
Applicants must meet the educational prerequisites for their chosen program. For undergraduate programs, a completed secondary school education (or equivalent) is required. For graduate and doctoral programs, applicants must hold prior degrees in theology, ministry, or related fields. Exceptions may be granted in rare cases through pastoral recommendation and evidence of equivalent ministry experience.
4. Ministry Calling and Character
Because our programs are offered exclusively for religious and ministerial purposes, applicants must exhibit evidence of a calling to Christian service and a lifestyle consistent with biblical holiness. A pastoral reference or letter of spiritual endorsement may be required.
5. Readiness for Online Learning
All students must be capable of engaging in online study through our eCampus platform. Basic digital literacy and access to a stable internet connection are essential for participation.
Important Note:
Open Christian University operates under California’s religious exemption provision (CEC § 94874(e)(1)) and offers programs solely for ministry training and biblical instruction. We do not issue secular degrees, nor do we prepare students for employment in state-regulated professions.
